Blogging Effectively - ENRICH Your Readers to Keep them Coming Back!
Enrich is a wonderful word – it’s a word we love at BrightDart. We want to make every experience our clients have with us a RICH experience. We want it to be rewarding in its process AND in its results.
How do we do that in our blogs? How do we make that little two-paragraph window into our company and our industry an enriching process and build in a reward? First of all, we keep it short. We expect to have a good following to our blog because we KNOW you are busy. No four paragraph lectures here.
One good idea a day! That’s what we want to give you. The reward? ONE GOOD IDEA! Not a dissertation, not a philosophical debate. MOST of you will have a busy client base who would love one simple takeaway also. BrightDart is an expert in one thing, marketing. That’s the focus.
So pick your focus, showcase your expertise, keep it SIMPLE and that, my friends, will enrich your readers!

Effective Blogging - Engage Your Audience!
Engaging your audience is like the home-run of blogging, right? How do you do that though?
There are some really subtle tools we’ve learned here at BrightDart from our own social media and blogging expert – and one of our favorites is to ask questions. According to our BrightDart blogging guru, even rhetorical questions engage the reader, don’t they? (You get the picture.) A question mark sets up an immediate physiological response in the reader. It creates a puzzle that your brain automatically wants to solve.
So go for it. Use subtle question marks that keep the conversation going. And use some pointed questions here and there that YOU, as a business, would like to know, like: “What is the #1 marketing dilemma you face right now?”

Blogging Effectively - Be Entertaining to Keep Your Readers!
Creating a blog that entertains your readers is vital! If it’s not fun, who wants to be there every day? How do you do that??? One of our favorite ways to accomplish this here at BrightDart is to spice it up with video blogs.
Here’s the 1-2-3 on making that work for you. #1. Set up a YouTube Channel. Need more info on that? Sign up for the BrightDart newsletter and I’ll send you a worksheet that breaks it down for you. #2. Shoot some informal video of you, your staff, and even your customers if you can and post it onto your YouTube channel. #3. Copy the HTML code to your blog and post it with a few sentences, just like the BrightDart team did here! By the way, we can do this for you, too! We have a fully staffed video department, and we can even have one of our own spokespersons step in FOR you and do your videos, taking all of the "I'm not good in front of the camera" OUT of the equation. Using Your Blog to Build Business
No matter what your business does, there’s a blog fit for you. This week we’ll go over the four E’s to an Excellent and Effective Blog! Tune in EVERY day to learn a new tip on how to educate, entertain, engage and enrich. One of those four will be the right fit for YOUR business and YOUR audience!
Having a blog that’s educational to your audience is a BIG way to get traffic. No matter what your business, educating your audience will keep them coming back for more. Not sure how that fits with you? At BrightDart, one of my biggest clients is a casino, and we just took over their blog writing for them. When we queried their customer base about what they would most like to learn, we got some pretty cool answers, like “how to play craps!” Another client of ours, here at BrightDart, is an Indian restaurant, and using their blog to educate their customers on their cuisine and the healthy benefits of eating Indian food (along with a few recipes here and there) is a great way to get (and KEEP) the attention of their audience!
That's it from us today at BrightDart, your one-stop-shop for all things marketing! Tune in tomorrow for another lesson in making your Blog WORK for your business!
